Theodora Ingratta Obituary

Our beloved Doris also known as Dora (affectionately called by her mother) is reunited with her family in heaven. She was born Feb. 6, 1931 one day after her mother’s birthday. She is the 2nd child out of 4 and was the only girl. By the time she started school Theodora was called Doris. She had 3 brothers one older and two younger. She adored her family and spent her life devoted to them. At age 17 she started work at the telephone company and stayed there for 43 years! Doris worked to help support her family. She was always there to help and guide them. Her older brother was disabled and she along with her mother took care of him for life. Doris was the heart and soul of her family. Always giving and thinking of others. She loved working in New York City and took advantage of all the shopping opportunities. Macys was her favorite. She not only loved her family but had life long friends and was very active in her church. She led her life like Christ and demonstrated her true joy in loving thy neighbor and giving. For it is in the giving that we truly receive. She epitomized this in her generosity. Doris was a loving and compassionate person. She was kind and fiercely independent. Although she had no biological children of her own she treated her nieces and nephews as her own. Always giving gifts of food, love and her time. No matter what Aunt Doris was always there for others. She loved her family and friends dearly and never put her self first. In fact she was truly selfless. Always thinking of others and helping those in need. She loved living life. She always liked going out to eat with her family up until the very end. She always kept up with the Sunday Dinner traditions and enjoyed her cooking and Sunday gravy. Even in her 90s she still thrived on going out and spending time with loved ones. She was everyone’s “Aunt Doris” and she was loved by all. Our beautiful matriarch is now reunited with her family in heaven that she missed so much. Her parents, brothers, her long time companion Bill and her nephew Angelo and niece Lisa. She has eternal life with Christ in paradise. We will miss and love her always. Until we meet again.
